Timothy “Ben” Echols serves as Transmission Superintendent for Pierce Powerline Co., bringing more than 20 years of hands-on experience and leadership in the utility construction industry. With deep expertise in energized transmission and distribution work, Ben has built a reputation for safely executing complex, high-risk projects across the United States, including advanced barehand, hot stick, and helicopter-assisted operations.

Ben began his career in 2004 as a groundman and quickly advanced through the ranks—gaining experience across multiple regions and working on critical infrastructure projects in transmission, distribution, and grid enhancement. His early exposure to large-scale work, including 230kV transmission projects and helicopter bundle operations, laid the foundation for his technical skillset and strong field leadership.

Throughout his career, Ben has held key foreman and leadership roles with major utility contractors, including Pike Electric, Michels Power, Service Electric, Summit Line Construction, and Edison Power. He has led crews on energized transmission maintenance, tower refabrication, fiber installations, and large-scale rebuild projects. Notably, he earned Quanta Barehand Certification while working on a 14-mile double-circuit energized transmission rebuild, demonstrating his advanced technical capability in live-line work.

In his current role at Pierce Powerline Co., Ben oversees all aspects of transmission operations, including construction, maintenance, crew performance, and safety compliance. He leads multiple crews in delivering high-quality results on critical power infrastructure projects, ensuring that work is executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with industry and regulatory standards.

A strong advocate for safety and team development, Ben holds multiple industry certifications, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 Helicopter Certification, Line Master Certification, OSHA ET&D credentials, and specialized training in equipotential grounding and bonding methods. His leadership style emphasizes accountability, mentorship, and continuous improvement, helping to build high-performing teams in demanding field environments.
